Aluminum ladders and their types

A ladder will be useful in every home. It is true that we do not use it every day, but there are times when it becomes simply necessary. How to choose the right equipment for a specific activity?

If we are planning renovation or holiday cleaning, a comfortable stepped, free-standing ladder will be sufficient. There are models that allow entry from one or two sides. A good quality product should be constructed of riveted joints between the steps and the stringers, and have non-slip feet for the stringers to ensure safe spacing. Before buying, it is worth checking that the ladder is stable. The surface of the steps should be sufficiently large, and the structure - allowing for comfortable work. It is also worth paying attention to whether the steps are lined with a protective lining. Extending ladders are easy to transport and handy. Some have two safety belts, and there are also those that function as two folded ladders. In order not to be disappointed after the purchase, you need to choose a ladder of the right height. These spacers are perfect for indoor work.

An interesting device is an articulated ladder. It is precisely because of its articulated structure that it has many uses. Those consisting of four sections can be used as a leaning ladder, free-standing ladder, or even as a working platform. KRAUSE has patented a safety ratchet joint that can be operated with one hand, which allows for quick use of equipment with it. As in the case of stepped ladders, also the spacing should be fitted with anti-slip bottom feet of the stringers, and the stringers themselves reinforced in the most stressed places. These types of devices are used to work at low heights, but are very versatile within them.

Telescopic ladders are divided into two types: those in which the stringers overlap or hide in each other. They adapt to various conditions (stairs, unevenness) thanks to the sliding of the rungs by the rung and the possibility of extending the legs. Also here it is worth paying attention to the non-slip feet. The specific properties make the device foldable and portable without any problems.

A convenient solution is to equip yourself with ladder scaffolding to work at low heights. And they can be transformed at will: into a leaning ladder - one or two-piece, into a spacing ladder. There is, however, a limitation - the platform must not be set up more than 1m - then additional security is required.

Extension ladders are made of four types of materials. There is the most of aluminum, they are strong, yet light and inexpensive. They are also distinguished by resistance to unfavorable weather conditions and corrosion. Those made of steel weigh more and are much more difficult to move, wooden ones are most often used for electrical (they must be dry) and painting works. The most expensive option is fiberglass ladders, most often used by professionals. They are very solid, durable. Telescopic ladders, articulated ladders, and ladder scaffoldings are made of aluminum.
